When in Philly you know you have to try out the cheesesteak competition! Amazing flavor, soft fresh hoagie and creamy cheese. Meat was cut a little too thick for my liking but still one of the best! Flavor, staff, location is a must try when visiting PA.

I tell it like it is. Geno's is one of the original steak sandwhiches in Philly. I think people get disappointed because of the Hype around this place and it's competing neighbor Pat's This is an original steak sandwhich. Wit wiz. The food is good not great but its a cool experience that every tourist should try! Not great service but you order from a window and BRING CASH!

The subpar reviews surprise me as I had a good experience! Geno's has outdoor seating only and you're required to order at a to-go window. Tip- the food and beverages have separate windows to order from. I got there at a good time because I was second in line and received my food quickly. Do yourself a favor and only order the cheesesteak with wiz (it has more flavor than with provolone). Pair it with a bite of the peppers- delicious. Be wary of parking in the area if you're driving. Parking is scarce and the streets are narrow. I nearly got blocked in by a service truck and had to plead with him to move the truck to let me exit the street.

Geno's is the superior sandwich, hence why my picture is of a half-eaten cheesesteak. Literally downed half of it and realized I should probably take a photo. Same set up as across the street, but for some reason it just hits better.

Genos VS Pat:: Did I just eat two cheese steaks in less than one hour? Yes I did, I will be taking no further questions at this time.... I was told to come here by my boss (native phillian)..is that even a word; whatever....and try it in comparison to their rival across the street. I freaking wanted to not like it because A) the girl at the counter was SOOO barren of any happiness, literal desolate of any emotions (maybe this is just the character she's playing for this place to be memorable? Lol) whatever the case, and B) it's my Bosses favorite. You got to always agrue with the boss or are you even doing work right?? Some would consider me a contrarian if you will, but I like getting down to the honest answer *slams fist on table* and not just believing the hype! Upon first unraveling this was JUICY overflowing with cheese. Listen I already had a whole fucking cheesesteak 15 minutes ago, I was not hungry; Until I saw this. Geno, you won. I didn't want to give it to you!....but you won fair and square. It was amazingly cheesy and the steak was juicy. Goddammit I didn't want this lol. YOU WON OKAY. Probably won't be back in Philly anytime soon but if anyone asks me, I am now able to give my opinion of the old age debate of Pats VS Geno. *shakes fists aggressively in the air*
